CYNTHIA LUKAS Cynthia Lukas is an author, film producer, and lecturer on topics of personal growth and global transformation. With a Master’s in Communications, she has been a college English and writing teacher for more than 25 years and a free-lance journalist for numerous local, regional, and national publications. She has written a young adult novel of distinction (Center Stage Summer). Her latest nonfiction book for adults, The Spirit of the Owl , was finalist for the USA 2006 Book Awards and the 2007 Nautilus Book Awards. Her poem “Wakefuleness” in that book won the Arizona Authors Association national poetry contest in 2004.
Cynthia has served her community as a two-term City Councilwoman for Scottsdale, and as Chair of the Maricopa County Council on Domestic Violence. She was named “Woman of the Year” in Lombard, IL.
